The Devil Wears Prada meets Devil’s Point - Floral installation

Time: 10:30am -
Wed, Jun 19th, 2024 at 5:30pm
Location:

Ahead of the exclusive pre-West End season of The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical coming to Plymouth this summer, a huge red shoe made of flowers will be “strutting” into Royal William Yard on Friday 31 May – located by the aptly named Devil’s Point – as a new sight and selfie spot for visitors this Spring / Summer season.

The bespoke 2m high metal structure covered in real red roses will be positioned to the left of The Green, near Firestone Arch.

Amarante, the creators of the installation, have created installations for the likes of Vogue, Harrods and Chanel, and this The Devil Wears Prada structure is guaranteed to be an impressive addition to Royal William Yard.

The red shoe will be in place at Royal William Yard before being transported to other areas in the city, including TRP during the run of the brand-new production, and it will eventually venture to London for the West End run – so make sure you catch it in Plymouth this summer before it moves!

Win Two Tickets to the Show

To celebrate The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical and its high heel hitting the city, there will be a competition to win two tickets to the show. To enter the competition, passersby should simply take a picture with the installation, post it and tag the theatre and Royal William Yard - @theatreroyalplymouth and @royalwilliamyd on Instagram and @TRPlymouth on X (formerly Twitter) - to be in with the chance to win. There will also be a special QR code on the base of the shoe which leads straight to the show’s booking page.

The Devil Wears Prada, a new musical, based on the blockbuster film and bestselling novel, will play at Theatre Royal Plymouth, running from 6th July – 17th August, prior to opening in the West End in October.

The show will feature an original score by music icon, and Olivier and Tony Award winner Elton John, lyrics by singer-songwriter Shaina Taub, book by Kate Wetherhead with direction & choreography by three-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, and Theatre Royal Plymouth are also co-producers of the show. Tony Award nominee Vanessa Williams, best known for her celebrated TV roles in Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives and as a multi-award winning singer, will play the iconic role of Miranda Priestly, the undisputed Queen of Fashion and Editor-in-Chief of Runway Magazine.
