Arcade Market

Popular Plymouth waterfront destination Royal William Yard is welcoming a vibrant new shopping experience this March as the Arcade Pop-up Market takes over the Brewhouse building for a month-long showcase of independent makers, artists and artisan producers.

Running from Friday 6th – Sunday 29th March, the indoor market will bring together more than 15 independent traders from Devon and Cornwall in a welcoming space. Open Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–4pm (closed Mondays), visitors can browse a carefully curated mix of handmade goods, gifts and locally made products.

Inspired by the hugely popular Royal William Yard Good Food & Craft Market, the pop-up offers a taste of everything visitors love about the larger monthly event – from beautifully crafted pieces and artisan food to unique finds from talented South West traders – all in a cosy indoor setting.

The timing couldn’t be better for those searching for a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift (15th March). Shoppers can wander the space and explore stalls and shelves filled with everything from homewares and jewellery to fresh flowers and houseplants. It’s a laid-back shopping experience perfect for a leisurely browse.

A celebration of local creativity

The Arcade Pop-up Market will showcase a variety of South West talent, from artists and jewellery designers to artisan food producers and makers, all on display together in Unit 1 of Arcade.

Visitors can discover fused and stained glass pieces from Papercutzglass, sea glass jewellery handcrafted by Kate Jane Seaglass, and distinctive glow-bead jewellery from Nicky’s Glow Beads, alongside nature-inspired prints from Plymouth printmaker Debby Mason.

Erica Ankers will display original artworks capturing the light and atmosphere of the region’s changing coastal environment, while Memori Prints will bring a range of contemporary screen-printed posters.

Homeware and lifestyle pieces are also on offer, including handcrafted wooden accessories by Peck and Chisel, and sustainable candles and homewares from Adhoc Homeware. Sustainable textiles created from recycled fabrics and admiralty sea charts will be available from Hannah Wisdom Textiles.

Flavours of the South West

Food lovers won’t be disappointed, with a wide selection of artisan producers bringing delicious treats to the market. Visitors can pick up award-winning preserves from Home Farm Cornwall, indulgent handmade fudge from Baytree & McQueen, and a wide range of flavour-packed products from Cornish Garlic, including butters, relishes, oils and tapenades.

Meanwhile, Plymouth-based SoPea Bath & Body will bring handcrafted bath and body treats made with skin-loving ingredients. The Sunday Bunch will add a splash of colour with fresh seasonal flowers sourced from local growers, while Plymouth-based Nook will bring a selection of indoor houseplants – offering personalised plant recommendations and aftercare advice to help customers find the perfect green addition for their home.

Something to raise a glass to

In a space of its very own (Unit 3 of Arcade), visitors will also find Tipple Cellar, a specialist drinks pop-up run by the family team behind award-winning Barbican Botanics Gin and Spiced Rum, as well as the Little Spirits Box subscription service, and Tipple Hamper Company.

Drawing on years of experience in the spirits world, the team will bring an exciting and varied range of drinks to the pop-up. Visitors can browse over 300 spirits from around the world – including an impressive selection of 140 whiskies – alongside a carefully curated collection of artisan gifts and snacks from some of the UK’s best independent producers.

Whether discovering a new favourite spirit or picking up a unique gift, Tipple Cellar promises something to suit every taste and budget.

A growing destination

Arcade is Royal William Yard’s newest retail destination, located within the Grade I listed Brewhouse building overlooking the marina. Designed as a flexible space for independent businesses, the Arcade units host a rotating mix of pop-ups, creative showcases and longer-term retailers.

Already home to Nala’s Pet Co, fashion boutique Pebble, and DockSide Coffee Bar, Arcade is gradually building a vibrant community of independent brands. Alongside new businesses taking up residence, visitors can expect a regular programme of markets, exhibitions, workshops and events, ensuring there is always something new to discover inside this evolving waterfront space.
