Join the South West Coast Path team on Friday 6th June, alongside inspiring speakers, as we explore the many health and well-being benefits of walking the South West Coast Path. As we anticipate the cinematic release of The Salt Path, we will hear from people who have experienced a transformational journey on the SWCP and have enjoyed the healing benefits of connecting to nature in the coastal environment.

Sarah Mukherjee will return to moderate this year's panel discussion.

Join the South West Coast Path team, alongside inspiring speakers as we explore the transformative power of the South West Coast Path experience.

Caroline Rutley-Frayne, SWCPA completer
In 2008, Caroline was in a devastating motor-bike accident. Not only did she lose her partner, she also lost her leg and part of her arm – changing her life forever. Despite everything, Caroline was determined to walk again and after seven years, defied the belief of her doctors and even herself when she walked the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path. Caroline will share her story of recovery on the Path.

Lisa Franklin, SWCPA completer and fundraiser
Lisa Franklin walked the entire path raising money for the SWCPA and PAPYRUS, she will share her transformational journey on the path and taking on a fundraising challenge.

Katie Ash, Public Health Consultant
Katie will talk about the public health benefits of walking and how the health sector is rising to the challenge of engaging people to walk through social prescribing.

Sharon Thomas, SWCPA access advocate
Sharon will talk about her YouTube channel (Wheelie Fun Adventures), and the advocacy work she does to help raise awareness and understanding to enable people with disabilities to enjoy the trail and have a choice when accessing the SWCP.

Mike Radford, St Petroc’s Vocational Development Officer
For over two years, St Petrocs have been a part of the SWCP Coast Path Connectors Project, by training staff to become connectors and facilitating monthly walks for people who access their services. Mike will talk about St Petroc’s experience of being involved with this project.

11.10 am – Panel Discussion
Moderated by Sarah Mukherjee, Co-Chair Natural England Landscape Advisory Panel
Sarah develops policy and engages with stakeholders at the highest level. Promoting good science, better regulation and best practice with the lightest environmental footprint. Previously, an internationally award-winning journalist with 20 years' experience of reporting accurately and impartially on a range of environmental issues.
