Sew the Ilford Shacket - Shirt Sewing Skills - Ocean Studios

A Shacket! This will be your favourite throw on for this coming season. A heavier shirt and a lighter jacket the shacket is the perfect in between.

A unisex pattern the Ilford jacket by Friday Pattern Co is the perfect pattern to cover all aspects of shirt making for both men and women. With drop shoulders for a relaxed fit a choice of sleeve, a cuff and sleeve placket or a boxy sleeve for a more relaxed fit and easier sew option, you have a choice of length and lots of pocket options, it really is the perfect pattern.

In this class you will learn to:

Construct a collar, Top stitching ,Create a sleeve with placket and cuff (if you choose that option), Sewing buttonholes, Work with medium to heavy weight fabric, Apply pockets.

What you will need:

A sewing machine – if you need to use one of ours please let us know when you book

A basic sewing kit – scissors, pins tape measure etc – we do have a supply of these if you need to use ours.
