Royal William Yard: A Maritime Masterpiece -Plymouth Walking Tours
New for 2026!
Discover the Royal William Yard’s grand Georgian architecture, waterfront vistas, and rich naval history as you take a gentle walk around the restored victualling yard.
The tour starts outside the main entrance to the yard, taking a winding route past main buildings and hidden corners before ending at the Inner Basin in the heart of the Yard.
Learn about the past, present and future of this amazing destination.
The tour last 70 minutes.
There are free toilets in the Brewhouse building (Arcade shopping) within the Royal William Yard, or on the way to the site on the corner of Cremyll Street and Admiral’s Hard.
There are several eateries and coffee shops inside and just outside the Yard.
There is a car park on Cremyll Street, or in the Royal William Yard.
Please follow the parking guidance carefully!
The Royal William Yard ferry is a direct link from the Barbican, and is operated by Plymouth Boat Trips.
There are bus stops just outside the Yard, but there is no direct bus route from the Barbican or Hoe to the Royal William Yard.
