Featured Artists

John Dixon

You couldn’t get a closer connection to the coast than John’s work. Collecting ocean plastic from local beaches, John turns litter into art, creating order from chaos. Using mathematical and geometric patterns, he creates colourful abstract pictures from discarded trawler net, plastic packaging, and fragments that were once household items. All remnants of humanity’s extravagant and wasteful existence.

Erica Ankers

Erica Ankers is a distinguished semi abstract landscape artist based in the picturesque South West, known for her ability to fuse the natural beauty of the countryside with imaginative abstract elements, creating artworks that resonate with both the heart and mind.

Donna Francesca

The Devon coastline is the driving force behind Donna Francesca’s paintings. Through her work, she translates the sea, sky, and emotional resonance of the landscape onto canvas.

Kate Bosence

For a few years Kate has been painting in response to the wilderness and wild spaces. Her work reflects the landscape of Dartmoor, the coastline and the dramatic and breathtaking skies that capture her attention everyday.

Aisleigh Anne

Aisleigh is a Cornwall-based artist whose work is a deeply intuitive response to the landscape. Through expressive mark-making, she captures not just a place, but its essence - a fleeting moment, a feeling. Growing up in South Devon, she was always drawn to the outdoors, finding inspiration in the ever-changing landscape.

Louise Kidd

As a painter, Louise's work is deeply rooted in the Cornish Coastal landscape that surrounds her. Daily walks with her dog offer inspiration through the shifting light on the sea, the textures of the undergrowth, the worn surfaces of the coast path, and the distant views. Louise's aim is to express the essence and profound connection she feels to this and not just to convey its visual beauty.

Clark Nicol

"In my newest work the dialogue between pictorial depth and the flat plane of the canvas invites viewers to be aware of the act of viewing and to enjoy the changes in perception these marks can create. I find that the power, energy, wetness, and textures of the coast, which are all sensory experiences that don't rely on the visual experience, can be better expressed through different forms of mark making. Working in this zone allows me to explore the environmental importance of the coast, referencing this through imagery and title, to allow the viewer to make connections.”

Rebecca Roberts

Rebecca Roberts is a Plymouth based ceramicist who loves porcelain, the sea and the colour yellow. Rebecca has lived close to the sea for most of her life, and it has had, and continues to have, a strong influence on her work.

Helen McCormick

Helen McCormick is a Welsh ceramicist and teacher based in Cullompton, Devon, with 28 years of experience working with clay. Growing up by the sea, she has always felt a deep connection to the ocean, a bond that strongly influences her work. Her hand-built vessels capture the fluidity and natural forms of the coast, reflecting the interplay of movement and texture found in the landscape. Her time living, teaching, and travelling in South East Asia has also left a lasting impression on her practice, inspiring an appreciation for intricate, hand-crafted forms and the deep cultural connections to clay in those regions.
