More Information

Disabled Parking

Please note that disabled motorists should pay to park, and must display a blue badge if using the disabled parking bays. We offer 11 dedicated disabled parking bays, and if these are occupied, drivers are welcome to use any other visitor spaces at the Yard.

Bikes

Motorcyclists also need to pay for parking in the new changes, but we have introduced a rate starting from 75p, please see the tariff signs details. Cyclists do not pay to park at the Yard and there is plenty of lock-up space for bikes.

Other Options

Find additional car park locations in Plymouth at www.plymouth.gov.uk/carparks or Parkopedia. Another option for parking nearby at weekends is Stonehouse Creek, which is a 250-space pay and display car park. Around a 10 minute walk from Royal William Yard, this car park is open to the public at weekends. You may wish to consider this option during events, when parking is limited.

Please note the current partial closure of Devil’s Point car park. Visitors are warned that part of the Plymouth City Council public car park is currently closed to accommodate work on a much-needed new car park for Royal William Yard. The former reservoir nearby is being converted to create more than 100 additional parking spaces and this requires part of the Devil’s Point car park to provide a site compound and safe access. Disabled parking will be provided throughout (except when the car park is closed for resurfacing).

Sustainability

We encourage anyone planning a trip to Royal William Yard to explore the many ways they can visit us, including green travel options like car sharing, public transport, cycling and walking – you can even reach the Yard by ferry. Take a look here https://royalwilliamyard.com/visit.
