Whether you’re walking hand in hand by the marina, sharing a bottle of wine over a candlelit table, or feasting on an exquisite three course meal amidst the stunning backdrop of grand listed buildings, settings don’t get much more romantic than Plymouth’s historic Royal William Yard.

This popular waterfront destination has an array of treats on offer for Valentine’s Day, from carefully curated menus to luxury pampering experiences and gifts galore. Everything you need to make this special day even more memorable is in one place. Take a look at the range of ways to mark the occasion:

Wine and dine

Home to Plymouth’s freshest seafood – straight from its own fishing boats – and the city’s first speciality rum bar, is independent restaurant The Hook & Line. Its Valentine’s menu kicks off with a Fizz Cocktail upon arrival, before launching into three mouth-watering courses for £90 per couple. If you want to push the boat out, extras include Champagne, oysters, and a Fruit De Mer platter. This is accompanied by music to set the mood, with a live acoustic performance from Ashley Southwell.

With views over the Yard’s lawn, classic French restaurant Bistrot Pierre is offering a decadent Valentine’s menu. It starts with a complementary glass of Veuve Devienne, followed by three delicious courses, including a sharing plate of three classic desserts. All available for £34.95 per person.

The Club House is offering three courses and a welcome drink for £32.95 per person. Its menu includes a limited-edition Confetti Martini cocktail, its famous hanging kebabs and signature warm cookie dough dessert, complete with two spoons. Live music provides a soundtrack for the evening of Valentine’s Day with talented resident musicians performing from 7pm onwards.

BLOCK Plymouth’s Bar + Café is making a week of it, with a Valentine’s special on offer from the 13th-19th February, which includes Ruby Hot Chocolate, Red Velvet and Nutella Doughnuts, plus indulgent cocktails like a Negroni Spagliato. The bar will stay open late on the 14th for a pre or post dinner drink in cosy surroundings.

Resident independent wine bar, Le Vignoble, delivers on charm and romance, with wine, fizz, and French light bites served by candlelight. This Valentine’s Day, it is offering a pre and post dinner package, giving you the option to start of end your evening with sparkling wine, appealing appetisers, or moreish macarons.

With food from around the world, you’ll be spoilt for choice for a romantic rendezvous. Try Wagamama for authentic Asian and Japanese cuisine; Pho for freshly cooked Vietnamese food; Prezzo for casual Italian dining; Seco Lounge for an awesome all-day menu; Wildwood for pizza and pasta perfection; and Hub Box for next-level burgers and barbeque.
