Moimi Oczami / Through My Eyes - Devils Point
Moimi Oczami / Through My Eyes invites Plymouth audiences to experience the sea through migrant mothers’ perspectives.
Created by artists Agnieszka Blonska & Tori Cannell, co-created with mothers from Plymouth. Produced by Plymouth Culture
Through My Eyes is a contemplative immersive audio experience exploring the strong link between sea, migration and motherhood led by the stories and memories of 12 first-generation Polish migrant mothers.
Audiences are invited to gather in a designated viewing area at Devil’s Point and listen through wireless headphones to layered personal testimonies reflecting on belonging, language, motherhood, memory, loss and the idea of home in relationship with Plymouth Sound National Marine Park
Weaving personal testimony with poetry and the rhythms of the ocean, the piece asks what it means to put down roots when part of you is always pulled by the tide.
The artists work is rooted in a belief in the power of storytelling, creativity and building relationships to nurture and amplify voices. You can find out more about the artists here.
