Ocean Studios has a large sun-soaked courtyard, bright and beautiful café and gallery space which hosts regular art exhibitions, and a retail offer where you can pick up pieces made by local makers and south west creatives. The café supplies amazing coffee, a range of lovingly made food from nearby suppliers and you can always rely on being able to grab an amazing slice of cake!
Whatever drives your creative spirit, there’s a way to channel your energy at Ocean Studios including: print studios, pottery studios, jewellery making facilities, drawing space, children’s mini-maker sessions, photography studios, creative co-work room and large event space for collaborations. Looking to be inspired? Why not explore the resident artists’ studios and get a peek at their processes by heading up to the first floor where a range of Plymouth based artists have dedicated studio space.
This amazing culture hub is part of the Real Ideas campus (Real Ideas are a south west based social enterprise). Every time you support a local maker at an event, buy a cup of coffee, or get a ticket for a live show you are helping to champion arts in the south west and support Real Ideas’ work supporting small businesses and young people across Devon and Cornwall.
If you want to get involved at Ocean Studios beyond the vibrant range of public events and would like to regularly access workshops or workspace, you can join as a Real Ideas member (members also benefit from access to additional facilities at the Market Hall and Devonport Guildhall in nearby Devonport).

Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 - 17:00
Extended hours during special events.
Creative co-work and workshops accessible Monday - Sunday 8am-6pm for members.
