EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA AT ROYAL WILLIAM YARD

Cracking programme of family activities and experiences over Easter
From an Easter Egg Hunt to a guided tour and crafting workshops, there is no shortage of egg-citing entertainment coming up at Royal William Yard this month. Family cinema experiences, children's paddleboarding, and dining deals all combine to make this Easter holiday a brilliant break for all. Egg-cellent Events Track down the clues on an Easter Egg Hunt and earn a treat at the end!
Running from 17th-19th April, 12-5pm, the trail is totally free to get involved in around Royal William Yard. Grab a trail map from a number of participating restaurants and cafes, before heading off to spot eight hidden Easter eggs around the Yard, and then claim a prize. Maps and prizes can be collected from Ocean Studios Cafe, Everyman Cinema, Wagamama, Steel Brew, and Wildwood.
Join the Plymouth Sound NMP team on 10th April for a historic walk and talk, where you'll learn more about local military and maritime history. Suitable for all mobility levels, this fascinating session offers a unique perspective on the Yard's rich heritage.
Amazing activities
South West SUP has an Easter SUP Club running over the holidays, providing a chance for kids to go on a real adventure. Sessions will run from 10am-1pm on 7th-10th April and 14th-17th April. Children (age 9-16) can learn the fundamentals of paddleboarding and water safety in a fun and supportive environment. All equipment, tuition and a healthy lunch is provided. It is £30 per session or weekly pass £100. Sessions are free for children taking part in the Fit and Fed scheme. Book here.
Ocean Studios will host creative Sustainable Sewing Workshops for kids aged 8-16 of all skill levels. On 8th-9th April, children can make a custom panelled jumper from scratch (book here), while on 15th-16th April, they can create a cosy pair of pyjamas (book here).
Family Entertainment
Everyman cinema will immerse families in storytelling this Easter with exciting new releases including A Minecraft Movie, Flow, and Disney's Snow White. For select screenings, grab the Everyman Family Ticket and enjoy two adult tickets (18+) and two child tickets (up to age 14) for a discounted rate – ask the Everyman team for more details.
Easter Feasts
Wildwood, will run a 'kids eat for just £1 deal' with each adult main meal through the holidays (T&Cs apply). This special offer is valid Sunday to Thursday, from 4th-20th April, plus don't miss their limited-edition kids' Easter menu – a delicious treat the whole family will love!
Bistrot Pierre is celebrating Easter Sunday with a special 3-course set menu for £26.95. Plus, if you're a Club Bistrot Pierre member, treat the little ones to a main course with unlimited refills of squash for just £1 when an adult main is purchased. (T&Cs apply)
The Hook & Line serves delicious roast dinners every Sunday from 12-7pm for £20 (vegan and gluten-free options available). They also run a cocktail happy hour every day, all day. If you travel to the Yard by ferry, let the team know for a 10% discount.
Finally… The Shack is back! The popular café, just metres from the water’s edge at Firestone Arch, will reopen on Saturday 19th April. Known for its incredible treats and hot drinks, The Shack will be open on Saturday and Sunday during Easter weekend from 8am-3pm.
Hop to it
As well as all the usual ways to reach Royal William Yard – on foot, by car, Plymouth Citybus number 34 service, and Beryl bikes – the Plymouth Boat Trips ferry service connects the Royal William Yard with the Barbican and Mount Edgcumbe, making it ideal for families looking to make a day of it and explore the waterfront. Currently the Cremyll Ferry is also running from Royal William Yard Marina.
