DEVIL'S POINT PUBLIC CAR PARK REOPENS TODAY

As of today, Friday 19th September, the public section of Devil's Point car park has reopened following resurfacing and improvement works.
In addition, more than 100 new parking spaces created as part of the Royal William Yard car parking expansion project will open within the next couple of weeks.
What's Changed
Devil's Point car park has been reconfigured following the recent extension of Royal William Yard's parking facilities. The site now operates as two distinct areas. To help distinguish between the two parking areas:
- BLUE painted spaces = Free public parking (3-hour limit)
- WHITE painted spaces = Chargeable Royal William Yard parking
Public Parking
- Available 24/7
- Free to use
- Modern ticketless system using ANPR cameras – no tickets required
- Up to 3 hours maximum stay
- No return within 2 hours
- 5 dedicated disabled access bays provided
- Identified by blue painted space and signageThe car park remains publicly owned by Plymouth City Council
- Managed by SIP Car Parks
- Full terms and conditions are displayed on site signage – including details of parking charges for breaching conditions.
Streamlined Experience
Under the new management arrangement between Plymouth City Council and Urban Splash, visitors will benefit from:
- Modern ticketless parking – simply drive in and out of the public parking area
- Enhanced security with 24-hour camera monitoring
- Better accessibility following full resurfacing and re-marking
- Signage and information across both areas
- Single management system reducing confusion between neighbouring car parks.
Queries
The car park remains in public ownership, with PCC retaining responsibility for maintenance, but day-to-day operation will now be managed by SIP Car Parks, Urban Splash’s parking operator.
