AN EPIC ROMANCE ON THE WATERFRONT
Posted on: 06 Feb 2026
VALENTINE'S DAY AT ROYAL WILLIAM YARD
Plymouth’s historic waterfront destination, Royal William Yard, is setting the stage for romance this Valentine’s Day with an array of experiences that span traditional dining, thoughtful gifting and unique adventures.
From conventional wining and dining over cheese fondue, and losing yourself in Cathy and Heathcliff's epic romance on the big screen, to shunning tradition altogether by enjoying the rugby together, or sinking into ice baths side-by-side. Whatever the dream date might be, this destination offers the perfect backdrop for love stories in 2026.
WINE AND DINE
The Yard’s diverse dining scene promises memorable Valentine's celebrations. Bistrot Pierre presents a special Valentine’s menu on 13th and 14th February, featuring three indulgent courses for £40.95 with brand new specials including Swiss cheese fondue. Diners can enjoy a special offer of £7 off Veuve Devienne – just £25 instead of £32 – when dining from this menu, with stunning views across the lawn to the sea.
Wildwood invites couples to celebrate with an Italian feast made for sharing. Available exclusively on 14th and 15th February, the special three-course Valentine's menu brings indulgent starters, heart-shaped ravioli and pizza, decadent desserts and a limited-edition 'kiss me Martini' – designed to bring a little luxury and a lot of amore to the table.
Seco Lounge offers its signature relaxed atmosphere with a Valentine's special drink – the Strawberry Kiss; a sweet, dreamy cocktail made with Tequila Rose, available from 9th to 15th February. Le Vignoble continues to create memorable moments with candlelit wine tastings and French tapas, alongside champagne and fine wines perfect for gifting.
The Yard's dining options extend to Wagamama for modern Asian fusion by the sea. For coffee dates with character, BLOCK Café offers a cosy retreat, and the recently opened DockSide Coffee Bar serves up a brew for two – alongside filled croissants and delicious bakes.
For couples seeking something different, Steel Brew – the independent brewery and taproom – combines craft beer with live sport. This Valentine's Day coincides with the Rugby Six Nations, as Scotland and England battle for the Calcutta Cup at Murrayfield on Saturday 14th February, offering a lively alternative a traditional romantic outing!
THOUGHTFUL GIFTS
The Yard's independent retailers offer distinctive Valentine's gifts beyond the ordinary. Le Vignoble's luxury hampers elevate gift-giving with a special Valentine's offering of a carefully curated hamper, with Neufchâtel cheese paired with a bottle of Crémant de Loire Rosé.
YOKE the Salon showcases sustainable luxury with premium haircare collections and exclusive gift sets, whilst independent boutiques Identity Fashion and Pebble provide the perfect sparkle with unique fashion pieces, statement jewellery and accessories, candles, cards and more.
Ensuring that no loved one is left out, for four-legged friends, Nala's Pet Co – the Yard's independent pet shop – offers luxury dog treats and accessories to share the love with loyal companions.
Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness invites couples to relax and unwind with sumptuous skincare sessions and bespoke massages. This February, the clinic is running 'Facial February' with incredible deals on its new advanced collagen boosting medical grade facial for £85, with special offers on courses of treatments – the perfect gift of specialist self-care for a loved one.
SHARED ADVENTURES

For families celebrating with some quality time together, Arcade in the historic Brewhouse building will host free children's craft activities from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 14th February, as a half term activity.
