Plymouth Boat Trips runs the ferry services in and out of Royal William Yard, linking a number of iconic local destinations together by the water.

THE CREMYLL FERRY:

Due to urgent works required on the Admirals Hard slipway, the Cremyll Ferry is currently running from Royal William Yard Marina. The timetable will not be affected and Plymouth Boat Trips is awaiting further information from Plymouth City Council regarding time scale of works. Keep up to date with any new information on the service on the Plymouth Boat Trips website and social media channels.

INFORMATION FOR CREMYLL FERRY PASSENGERS USING ROYAL WILLIAM YARD

Parking options:

  • Pay and display car park available for all visitors
  • Designated pick-up/drop-off area located outside the Gatehouse (on the left after passing under the entrance arch)
  • The pick-up/drop-off area is intended for brief stops only
  • Please note that stopping in front of the Marina is not permitted due to continuous traffic flow in this area

Sustainable transport options:

  • Catch the frequent Plymouth Citybus 34 Service from the roundabout outside the Yard
  • Bring your bike and use one of the bicycle racks at Royal William Yard
  • Hop on Plymouth's Beryl e-bike service, with a bike bay on Cremyll Street
  • It is a 30-minute walk from the City Centre, or take the scenic route along the South West Coast Path

ROYAL WILLIAM YARD, THE BARBICAN, MOUNT EDGCUMBE FERRY:

Three exception destinations served by one ferry service. Experience the restaurants, bars and boutique shopping at Royal William Yard, the historic house and acres of stunning Country Park at Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall and Plymouth’s historic Barbican, a short walk from the city centre. This service is set to start for the season on 1st April 2025.

SALTASH FERRY:

This service is expected to return by the end of May 2025. Repair work is currently being carried out on the Jubilee Pontoon at Saltash and the service will resume when this is finished. More information will follow nearer the time.

*Well behaved dogs are very welcome on the ferry services.

Berthing

Royal William Yard boasts its very own marina. With short term visitor berths and annual contracts available, and perfect for motor boats and smaller yachts, the visiting mariner can soak up the atmosphere of this unique and special place.

Please note that Mayflower Marina also has a berth within RWY Marina, so those staying or visiting from across the water can make an easy trip to Royal William Yard.
