From October 11 2016, New Model Theatre will return to Royal William Yard with its third pop-up theatre season in temporary venue, Outpost, hosted in the stunning Factory Cooperage building.

Over three weeks, they’ll be presenting work from some of the UK’s most exciting theatre companies and, on top of this, are going to be doing something really special.

They’ll be bringing together a repertory company of four actors to produce three shows, a classic, a revival and brand new play. Productions include the Dolls House, The Man Who Would be King and Open Attic.

The season will also feature new works like Foundations by Plymouth talent and Outpost Director, Tom Nicholson and kids favourite The Ugly Duckling and other tales, by Above Bounds Theatre Collective.

Outpost has been praised for by revered theatre title The Stage for its rep company model.

Tom Nicholson said: “Since 2013, New Model Theatre has existed to create high quality theatre in Plymouth. It’s extremely exciting to be able to bring Outpost back once more and to build on the success of previous years by creating three shows using talent of local actors so often overlooked.”

Outpost is made possible through partnerships with Urban Splash and Barbican Theatre, and supported by Arts Council England.

Urban Splash Associate Director, Emily Handslip said: “We are delighted to host Outpost for the third year in a row and see it grow from strength to strength. Royal William Yard has become the best place to work, rest and play in the South West, and Outpost is exactly the kind of interesting and high quality arts event we want to offer to our visitors and residents.”
